Semi-Custom Shawls "Fårö" - trådverk

Semi-Custom Shawls "Fårö"

This is a deposit on a semi-custom handwoven piece. Please read the product description carefully before making the purchase.

Fårö is made of 100% wild mulberry silk from GOTS-certified organic production, naturally dyed using GOTS approved mordants and natural dyes.

Woven at 40cm width, the finished fabric is perfect for shawls, cowls, and scarves. Weaving begins end of June. The main colour way of the warp is shown in the first two pictures. The pattern near identical to the scarf shown in the last picture.

My handwovens are made to last a lifetime. But sometimes life can be rough, and a thread gets pulled and breaks, or your dog attempts to eat the fringe. Therefore, I offer a free repairs service for my handwovens for a year after purchase.

    Washing Instructions

You can use the wool wash program of your washing machine, or gently wash by hand in lukewarm water using detergent or soap for wool and silk. Gently squeeze the suds through the fabric, taking care not to rub the fabric too much, and avoid steep changes in water temperature as this may cause shrinkage. Rinse the garment in clean water, squeezing gently without twisting or wringing. A short light spin in the washing machine will help remove most of the water. Dry naturally away from direct heat such as radiators and sunlight. Never use a tumble dryer! Press whilst damp, or with steam at medium setting to bring out the softness and lustre of silk.
