Sample card includes strands of the following raw yarns:
Eri Silk, Wild Mulberry Silk, Falkland Merino, Tasmanian Merino, and Mongolian Baby Camel, Yak, & Cashmere.
Please let me know at checkout if you'd like to receive other (rarer) yarns I may currently have in stock, such as Muga silk and hand-spun eri silk.
All pieces were handmade from start to finish: The yarn was dyed with natural dyes one skein at a time before it was wound onto the loom. Each of the hundreds of yarn ends was then threaded through heddles and reed. The fabric was handwoven on my loom, subsequently washed with handmade organic soap, cut, sewn, labelled and pressed.
My handwovens are made to last a lifetime. But sometimes life can be rough, and a thread gets pulled and breaks, or your dog attempts to eat the fringe. Therefore, I offer a free repairs service for my handwovens for a year after purchase.
More InformationWashing Instructions: You can use the wool wash program of your washing machine, or gently wash by hand in lukewarm water using detergent or soap for wool and silk. Gently squeeze the suds through the fabric, taking care not to rub the fabric too much, and avoid steep changes in water temperature as this may cause shrinkage. Rinse the garment in clean water, squeezing gently without twisting or wringing. A short light spin in the washing machine will help remove most of the water. Dry naturally away from direct heat such as radiators and sunlight. Never use a tumble dryer! Press whilst damp, or with steam at medium setting to bring out the softness and lustre of silk.
