*Warp = the yarn that runs lengthwise in a woven fabric; weft = the yarn that runs widthwise in a woven fabric.
In September 2022, Trådverk became the first hand-dyeing and hand-weaving studio in the world that is certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard, GOTS.
The majority of fibre in our yarns comes from certified organic production. Wherever possible, the entire supply chain is accredited by GOTS.
We use only natural dyes, mordants, and modifiers that cause no harm to people and planet, and that are approved by GOTS.
Our products are regularly tested by GOTS to make sure they are toxin-free and colourfast.
My handwovens are made to last a lifetime. But sometimes life can be rough, and a thread gets pulled and breaks, or your dog attempts to eat the fringe. Therefore, I offer a free repairs service for my handwovens for a year after purchase.more information
Although it is possible to machine-wash using a cold delicates/silk program, it is always best to gently wash by hand in tepid water with neutral detergent or wool and silk. Gently squeeze the suds through the fabric, taking care not to rub the fabric too much, and avoid steep changes in water temperature as this may cause shrinkage. Never use optical brighteners! Rinse the garment in clean water, squeezing gently without twisting or wringing. A short light spin in the washing machine will help remove most of the water. Dry naturally away from direct heat such as radiators and sunlight. Never use a tumble dryer! Press whilst damp, or with steam at medium setting to bring out the softness and lustre of silk.Buy Washing Soap
